Original Chimayó Cocktail
This rendition of the Chimoyó, a cocktail created by a New Mexico restauranteur in 1965, is close to the original drink, utilizing less cider than tequila.
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp tequila 1 ½ ozs Cuervo Gold or other high-quality gold tequila
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar unfiltered
- 1/2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tbsp creme de cassis
- 1 slice apple unpeeled for garnish
- 1 tbsp cinnamon sugar
Instructions
- Dip rim of an 8-ounce glass in lemon juice, then in cinnamon-sugar. Half fill glass with ice cubes. Pour tequila, cider, lemon juice and crème de cassis over ice and stir to blend. Garnish rim with apple slice and serve.
