Black Russian
The story of the Black Russian and White Russian cocktails dates back to the 17th century and a family recipe for creating a coffee flavored liqueur that was named in honor of a family maid that was instrumental in secretly transporting the famed recipe in a wooden box with a pair of ear rings from Jamaica to Spain during a Jamaican revolutionary uprising. A creative barman at the Metropole Hotel in Brussels added the liquor to vodka in honor of a visiting dignitary and the rest is history. That was the creation of the Black Russian.
Ingredients
- 5 cl vodka
- 2 cl coffee liqueur
Instructions
- Pour the ingredients into the old fashioned-glass filled with ice cubes. Stir gently.
Notes
F a White Russian, float fresh cream on the top and stir gently.
